Jeremy Yager
Jeremy Yager is an Advisory Board member at Project Texas. He is a veteran educator with eleven years of experience spanning a variety of teaching and leadership roles, and currently serves as the Principal of Hampton Preparatory Middle School in South Dallas.
Jeremy is a lifelong Texan who is passionate about educational equity and civic engagement. He studied Government at The University of Texas at Austin, where he helped to organize and execute a variety of successful voter registration and activation efforts within his community, and lobbied members of the Texas Legislature and the United States Congress on behalf of Texas students.
In 2011, Jeremy pursued his passion for public service as a Teach For America Corps Member by working as a fourth grade teacher on San Antonio’s east side. He moved to Dallas in 2014 to serve as the founding math teacher at Grand Preparatory Middle School, where he was recognized by Communities Foundation of Texas’ Educate Texas initiative and featured on the Teaching Channel.
He later joined Teaching Trust’s Aspiring Leaders Program and received his Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Southern Methodist University in 2017. Jeremy has since earned recognition from Uplift Education for exemplifying the organization’s core value of Elevate Expectations in his work as a school leader.
Jeremy aims to continue his growth as a leader and public servant, and is honored to contribute to the mission of Project Texas by working to empower all Texans to engage in the democratic process.
